early career

roos began career @ amateur dutch clubs vv toxandria, vv trekvogels, juliana 31 , quick 1888, before moving psv eindhoven in 2005. after 6 years @ psv academy moved willem ii, injuries hampered progress, before moving n.e.c. in 2012. @ start of 2013–14 season, roos had trial @ english championship club birmingham city , @ league 1 side bristol city. competed elliot parish chance win permanent contract, manager sean o driscoll signing parish permanently. o driscoll wanted sign roos , loan him out, financial restraints left him able sign 1 of pair. having failed earn contract , unable join league side transfer window had closed, roos returned netherlands , signed amateur hoofdklasse side nuenen.

having received offers netherlands , england, roos went on join conference premier side nuneaton town on 8 november 2013, signing contract until end of 2013–14 season. boro debut delayed 2 weeks club waited receive international clearance. there initial rumours , controversy on debut, led chief executive ian neale deny pressure placed on manager kevin wilkin play roos. debut came on 23 november, in 1–0 victory on chester @ liberty way, earned praise fine late save close-range jason jarrett strike. played total of 9 league matches, keeping 5 clean sheets, , played 4 cup matches, keeping 3 clean sheets, not conceding goal in first 6 appearances. form drew attention of premier league club liverpool, whom spent week s trial in january 2014, everton, sunderland , cardiff city. spent time training ipswich town , bolton wanderers , scouted crystal palace, queens park rangers , bournemouth.

on 23 january 2014, roos moved championship side derby county after impressing during trial. signed two-and-a-half year contract undisclosed fee, believed around £30,000 plus add-ons, including requirement derby play pre-season friendly nuneaton in summer. installed understudy lee grant after departure of goalkeeper adam legzdins, , started 2014–15 season on bench. made first-team debut rams in league cup match against reading @ pride park stadium on 23 september 2014. made several saves , kept clean sheet derby won 2–0. played in derby s next league cup match, 5–2 win on fulham on 28 october, , played 3 fa cup matches derby recorded 1–0 , 2–0 wins on sourtport , chesterfield before reading gained revenge eliminating derby fa cup @ fifth round.


on 15 july 2015, roos joined championship rivals rotherham united on season-long loan deal, along team-mate farrend rawson. got off poor start 4–1 defeat milton keynes dons @ new york stadium on 8 august, led heavy criticism millers fans on social media. roos returned derby 6 weeks loan period after conceding ten goals in 4 appearances, leaving rotherham bottom of table. manager steve evans stated @ minute in time inconsistency not afford , , signed free agent lee camp replace him.


on 1 february 2016, roos joined league 2 side afc wimbledon on loan rest of 2015–16 season. made debut dons 12 days later in 4–1 victory on luton town @ kingsmeadow. established himself in neal ardley s first-team, , proved highly popular supporters kept 8 clean sheets in 20 appearances club. helped club achieve promotion league 1 first time since reformation, kept clean sheet in 2–0 victory on plymouth argyle in league 2 play-off final @ wembley stadium, making excellent diving save graham carey free-kick when game still goalless.


on 24 august 2016, roos signed league 1 side bristol rovers on season-long loan. made debut pirates 6 days later in 3–2 efl trophy defeat reading u23 @ memorial stadium. made league debut gas on 10 september, in 2–2 draw rochdale. dropped in december manager darrell clarke decided give puddy run in goal. returned derby on 10 january 2017, having made 22 appearances in competitions bristol rovers.


on 16 september 2017, roos returned league 2 on emergency loan port vale; loan approved first-choice goalkeeper rob lainton injured , manager michael brown did not have confidence in inexperienced duo sam hornby , ryan boot. made debut valiants later same day in 1–1 draw forest green rovers @ vale park, proved brown s last game manager. 7 days later spilled routine cross allow yeovil town equalising goal in 1–1 draw, backed caretaker-manager david kelly, said presence , on . played 9 matches before forced return derby after picking injury in october.
