according eurovision rules, nations exceptions of host country , big 5 (france, germany, italy, spain , united kingdom) required qualify 1 of 2 semi-finals in order compete final; top ten countries each semi-final progress final. in 2015 contest, australia competed directly in final invited guest nation. european broadcasting union (ebu) split competing countries 5 different pots based on voting patterns previous contests, countries favourable voting histories put same pot. on 26 january 2015, special allocation draw held placed each country 1 of 2 semi-finals, half of show perform in. finland placed first semi-final, held on 19 may 2015, , scheduled perform in first half of show.

once competing songs 2015 contest had been released, running order semi-finals decided shows producers rather through draw, similar songs not placed next each other. finland set perform in position 5, following entry netherlands , before entry greece.

all 3 shows televised on yle tv2, second audio program available , providing commentary in finnish aino töllinen , cristal snow , in swedish eva frantz , johan lindroos. 3 shows broadcast via radio finnish commentary broadcast on yle radio suomi , swedish commentary broadcast on yle radio vega. finnish spokesperson, announced finnish votes during final, 2013 eurovision entrant krista siegfrids.

pertti kurikan nimipäivät took part in technical rehearsals on 11 , 15 may, followed dress rehearsals on 18 , 19 may. included jury final professional juries of each country, responsible 50 percent of each country s vote, watched , voted on competing entries.

the stage show featured members of pertti kurikan nimipäivät in band set-up: vocalist kari aalto, guitarist pertti kurikka, bassist sami helle , drummer toni välitalo. stage lighting prominent feature of performance background led screens displaying industrial brick walls.

at end of show, finland failed qualify final , not announced among top ten nations. later revealed finland had placed sixteenth , last, receiving total of 13 points.

voting

voting during 3 shows consisted of 50 percent public televoting , 50 percent jury deliberation. jury consisted of 5 music industry professionals citizens of country represent, names published before contest ensure transparency. jury asked judge each contestant based on: vocal capacity; stage performance; song s composition , originality; , overall impression act. in addition, no member of national jury related in way of competing acts in such way cannot vote impartially , independently. individual rankings of each jury member released shortly after grand final.

following release of full split voting ebu after conclusion of competition, revealed finland had placed tenth public televote , sixteenth (last) jury vote in first semi-final. in public vote, finland scored 51 points, while jury vote, finland scored 1 point.
