unicamp offers on 1 thousand extension programs community, different levels of minimum requirements (high school degree, undergraduate degree, etc.) , across areas of study, focusing on specialization courses , community outreach. programs coordinated pro-rectorate extension , outreach (pró-reitoria de extensão e assuntos comunitários, preac). preac aims promote actions of extension , culture through integration society, disseminating , acquiring knowledge through academic community.

specialization programs either offered unicamp s extension school, extecamp, or directly schools , institutes. in past 25 years, on 100,000 students have been reached , in 2014, unicamp joined coursera , 8 online courses being offered, 2 of them between popular coursera courses in brazil. outreach actions take variety of forms, including events, publications, technological, educational, cultural , social products , services. department cultural development hosts several events, open surrounding community. events held @ casa lago cultural space , @ cultural center social inclusion , integration.

every year, unicamp hosts open doors event (unicamp de portas abertas, upa), in main campus visited on 50 thousand high school students across country. event provides presentations , discussions on role of university in society, career presentations , tours, students visiting several areas of university , gaining better understanding of different areas of study.
