dundee united

livingston-born robertson joined dundee united youth player , top scorer in 2004–05 spl youth league, despite playing midfield. robertson made debut united in january 2006, in 1–1 draw against aberdeen, when came off bench in last few minutes replace player/manager craig brewster injured while making second debut. robertson scored first goal 3 months later in 3–1 league defeat livingston, , late extra-time winner sent united through scottish league cup third round @ start of following season. further league goals came against inverness caledonian thistle (twice) , celtic, cup strike against st mirren ensuring robertson s goals in 2006–07 saw him never finish on losing side. indeed, robertson s form saw him sign new two-year contract during february of season.


in september 2007, robertson won first scotland under-21 cap , later season came on extra-time substitute in 2008 scottish league cup final against rangers, missing 1 of united s penalties in defeat. in january 2009, robertson signed further extension contract, committing himself club until may 2011. on 24 march 2010, robertson scored vital last minute winner against rangers in quarter-final of scottish cup, dundee united went on win second time in 100-year history. in 2010 scottish cup final robertson played substitute.


st johnstone

despite being offered new contract united in 2011, robertson opted instead sign st johnstone. robertson made debut st johnstone in league game against aberdeen on 23 july 2011.


on 28 november 2012, robertson injured during st johnstone s match against hibernian , following day, confirmed club s manager steve lomas robertson had broken leg.


on 13 december 2013, st johnstone announced robertson not given new contract when current deal expired. in december 2013, robertson went on trial @ greenock morton.


greenock morton

on 3 january 2014, robertson signed greenock morton.


robertson s father dougie played 200 games morton between 1983 , 1990.


livingston & ayr united

in summer of 2014 robertson left morton sign livingston. scored on competitive debut club, coming on in 112th minute against queen of south , scoring minutes later secure extra-time victory.


after 7 months livingston, robertson transferred scottish league 1 side ayr united on short term deal. @ end of 2014–15 season, robertson released honest men.


selkirk & cowdenbeath

on 18 december 2015, robertson signed lowland league club selkirk. after 6 months selkirk, robertson returned spfl, signing scottish league 2 side cowdenbeath in june 2016. robertson retired football in january 2017, after judge ruled had raped woman.
