the fronds arise thick brown haired rhizomes , anywhere 0.4 1.5 m in height. foliage more yellow green colour, in contrast darker shiny green of bracken (pteridium esculentum). stipe changes dark brown, through reddish- yellow brown, , covered soft brown hairs. fronds triangular overall , tripinnate-pinnatifid in shape. sori occur near margin.
