the maid of loch in 2007.


in 1992 dumbarton district council bought maid of loch , restoration work started. in 1995 council supported group of local enthusiasts in setting charitable organisation, loch lomond steamship company, take on ownership , carry on restoration. became ready static operation cafe/bar , function suite in autumn 2000.


the key restoration repair , refurbishment of slipway adjacent pier @ balloch. there not being connection sea not possible take ship dry dock repairs hull slipway steam-operated cable-hauled cradle had been built. had fallen disrepair 1990s , heritage lottery fund grant awarded along assistance local , scottish governmental organisations. enabled paddle steamer lifted out of water on 27 june 2006.


the maid of loch open public every day easter october, , weekends through winter. has new livery of red, white , black, funnel red black top. repairs , servicing underway aim bring steam operation 2018.
