Biography László Nagy (Scouting)

in 1965, undertook two-year critical study of world scouting movement around world, sponsored ford foundation , appointed graduate institute of international studies. nagy published report on world scouting in june 1967. in course of study, data compiled first time worldwide scouting, many international trips made , countless interviews held. in report, nagy analysed , defined both problems , strengths of world scouting.


the 1967 world scout conference accepted nagy report many recommendations improvement of world scouting , reorganisation. in 1968, wosm invited him put recommendations practice , appointed him wosm post, three-year term lasted 20 years.


nagy awarded bronze wolf, distinction of world organization of scout movement, awarded world scout committee exceptional services world scouting, in 1977. in 1987 received highest distinction of scout association of japan, golden pheasant award.


nagy married former monique cuendet, genevoise artist, , had 2 sons, antoine (born in 1958) , laurent (born in 1960) , daughter, anns valerie (born in 1962).
