the programme supports exchanges , connections between people, institutions , countries within european union , european economic area.


exchanges between individuals

these include (for example):



erasmus student exchanges of between 3 , 12 months, in students leave home university , follow agreed part of course @ university in country. no additional fees payable, , course recognised home institution part of course-work degree. on 150,000 students did erasmus student exchanges in academic year 2005/6, , cumulative total since 1987 on 1,500,000.
in-service training courses in school or adult education. comenius , grundtvig programmes support participation in specific short work placements (internships) vocational students in companies in country, them complete skills

exchanges between institutions

these include (for example):



developing partnerships between schools in different countries ( comenius partnerships ) run joint projects , pupils.
similar projects supported in field of adult education grundtvig programme.
joint projects run universities in different countries develop joint curricula, run short-term intensive programmes, or establish thematic networks in different disciplines

connections between countries

these include (for example):



study visits regional , national administrators in education, training , guidance
networks of national experts working on issues of common interest.
publication of comparable statistics indicating how various education , training systems progressing.
