a coriolis meter 1 or more pipes longitudinally or axially displaced section(s) excited vibrate @ resonant frequency. coriolis meters used liquids , gases. when fluid within displaced section @ rest, both upstream , downstream portion of displaced section vibrate in phase each other. frequency of vibration determined overall density of pipe (including contents). allows meter measure flowing density of gas in real time. once fluid begins flow, however, coriolis force comes play. effect implies relationship between phase difference in vibration of upstream , downstream sections , mass flow rate of fluid contained pipe.


again, owing amount of inference, analog control , calculation intrinsic coriolis meter, meter not complete physical components. there actuation, sensing, electronic, , computational elements must present meter function.


coriolis meters can handle wide range of flow rates , have unique ability output mass flow - gives highest accuracy of flow measurement available mass flow measurement. since measure flowing density, coriolis meters can infer gas flow rate @ flowing conditions.
