uuden musiikin kilpailu 2015 fourth edition of uuden musiikin kilpailu (umk), music competition selects finland s entries eurovision song contest. competition consisted of 4 shows commenced first of 3 semi-finals on 7 february 2015 , conclude final on 28 february 2015. shows broadcast on yle tv2 , online @ yle.fi/umk. final broadcast via radio on yle x3m.

format

on 26 may 2014, umk 2015 show producer anssi autio announced format , rules of competition modified of previous years. panel of judges had been feature of competition past 3 years retired umk 2015. also, shows in competition recorded live; there no pre-recorded shows.

eighteen artists , songs competed in umk 2015—an increase twelve had competed in previous editions of competition. format of competition consisted of 4 shows: 3 semi-finals , final. 4 shows took place @ yle studios in helsinki , hosted rakel liekki , roope salminen. 3 semi-finals, held on 7, 14 , 21 february 2015, each featured 6 entries top 3 advancing final each show. final, held on 28 february 2015, consisted of 9 songs qualified semi-finals. results semi-finals determined exclusively public televoting. in final, winning entry determined combination of public televoting , votes several civilian juries represented different types of finnish people. in addition being able vote via phone call , sms during shows, internet voting enabled. proceeds televoting donated nose day foundation (nenäpäivä-säätiö), funds projects in developing nations.

competing entries

a submission period opened yle lasted between 1 september 2014 , 8 september 2014. competition allowed entries longer 3 minutes, however, should winning song longer 3 minutes, have shortened eurovision song contest. @ least 1 of writers , lead singer(s) had hold finnish citizenship or live in finland permanently in order entry qualify compete. panel of experts appointed yle selected eighteen entries competition received submissions. competing entries presented during live press conference on 13 january 2015, leak on spotify revealed artists , song titles on 7 january 2015—six days before official presentation.

semi-final 1

the first semi-final show took place on 7 february 2015 3 out of 6 competing entries qualified final based on results public televoting. 3 qualifiers crossroads performed satin circus, aina mun pitää performed pertti kurikan nimipäivät , no voy llorar por ti performed norlan el misionario .

semi-final 2

the second semi-final show took place on 14 february 2015 3 out of 6 competing entries qualified final based on results public televoting. 3 qualifiers ostarilla performed shava, heart of light performed opera skaala , lions , lambs performed jouni aslak.

semi-final 3

the third semi-final show took place on 21 february 2015 3 out of 6 competing entries qualified final based on results public televoting. 3 qualifiers hold colours performed solju, särkyneiden sydänten kulmilla performed järjestyshäiriö , victory performed angelo de nile.

the final results determined 90% televote , 10% jury votes. 8 jury groups made selected themes: children, rainbow people , marthas, musicians, media, taxi drivers, , finland swedes. 1 jury group, idea represent esc fans, gathered voluntary umk viewers. pertti kurikan nimipäivät winner of competition song aina mun pitää .
