ny 129 begins @ intersection ny 9a (south riverside avenue) in village of croton-on-hudson, next u.s. route 9 (us 9). ny 129 proceeds northward ny 9a along maple street, two-lane commercial street through village. @ van cortlandt park, ny 129 becomes residential, passing croton-harmon high school bends northeast. @ junction grand street, ny 129 continues northeast on grand street, two-lane residential street. route continues northeast through village, crossing intersection quaker bridge road before becoming wooded lane in town of cortlandt. in cortlandt, ny 129 continues north grand street, paralleling local creek , entering croton dam plaza.


running along western edge of plaza, ny 129 bends north @ view of new croton dam, continuing way north alongside new croton reservoir. ny 129 changes names croton dam road, passing east of croton harman school district headquarters. @ intersection east mount airy road, ny 129 runs eastward along reservoir, changing names yorktown road. on short stint away reservoir, ny 129 intersects croton road before crossing on hunters brook bridge, crosses historic community of huntersville. continuing northeast huntersville, ny 129, known croton lake road, bends through town of yorktown.

through yorktown, ny 129 two-lane residential street alongside reservoir, making gradual bend southeast intersection county route 131 (cr 131; underhill avenue), former alignment of ny 131. @ junction cr 131, ny 129 turns southward, winding way southeast under lanes of taconic state parkway, , alongside new croton reservoir. after crossing under taconic, route drops down reservoir , passing house reported have been moved huntersville before flooded. making several winds southeast, ny 129 connects gate house bridge, running eastward through yorktown. ny 129 intersects ny 118 (saw mill river road). intersection serves eastern terminus of ny 129, ny 118 continues east along reservoir.
