in terms of success on pitch club won first official competition in 1968/69 season winning af ponta delgada 1ª divisão championship , af ponta delgada taça (district cup). following season operário champions of azores. club made significant progress in 1990/91 again winning af ponta delgada 1ª divisão championship , azores championship. time gained promotion terceira divisão, national third division , in first season in 1991/92 competed against mainland teams in série e, finishing in tenth place. remained @ level until 1997/98 when won série açores , gained promotion segunda divisão, national second division (third tier). on last 14 seasons have spent 1 in segunda divisão. best season in 2007/08 when finished second in série d.
