in march 1907 began tour in white chrysanthemum, left end of month following dust-up on dressing room issue co-star edna wallace hopper. october played lead character sonia in franz lehár s merry widow @ colonial theatre, chicago. merry widow, ran simultaneously @ chicago , new york, huge success, netting estimated 1 million dollars on first year. new york production performed @ new amsterdam theatre , starred ethel jackson until fell ill in march 1908 , replaced abarbanell. after successful national tour in merry widow, abarbanell replaced elgie bowen nellie vaughan in romantic musical love cure @ new amsterdam in october 1909. @ same venue following august, abarbanell played title role in musical comedy madame sherry, had run of 231 performances , later taken on tour.

abarbanell remained active on broadway , in road productions on 2 decades. popular endeavor during time mademoiselle martinet in grand duke, comedy sacha guitry produced david belasco @ lyceum theatre. grand duke had respectable run between november 1921 , march 1922 , later road tour. abarbanell last appeared on broadway stage @ end of january 1934 in short-lived play theodora, quean.
