on-campus activities

nau has more 200 recognized professional, academic, service , social organizations, intramural sports program, lumberjack student newspaper, , active residence hall organizations.


the lumberjack

the university s award-winning, weekly newspaper independent, student-run publication called lumberjack. in may 2007, newspaper won society of professional journalists national award in editorial writing category articles printed during 2006.


kljx-lp, naz today, , utv62

kljx-lp (kjack) available in flagstaff on 107.1 fm or online. kljx-lp fm licensed radio station run nau students out of school of communication. nau s televised news program, naz today, airs monday through thursday in flagstaff on npg cable channel 4; formerly, aired on universityhouse (dish network channel 9411) until folded. since shutdown of channel 2 news in august 2008, naz today tv news source flagstaff area. utv62 nau s student run , produced television station. utv62 runs 24 hours day , 7 days week on channel 62 on campus. utv62 creates 1 short film each semester through production unit, utv films. utv62 sponsors 2 film festivals during school year: 73 hour film festival in fall, , northern arizona student film festival in spring.


recreation services

the nau recreation center remodeled in fall of 2011, creating nau health , learning center in place. features include indoor jogging track, 38 foot climbing wall, larger weight room, multipurpose gym, , cardio theatre. health , learning center includes of on-campus medical services housed in fronske health center, pharmacy, , offices disability resources on campus. features escalator in of northern arizona.


intramural sports

intramural sports organized teams , individuals , include flag football, soccer, volleyball, softball, racquetball, , backgammon. sports clubs include baseball, rugby, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, wushu, kendo , judo (martial arts), , water polo.


movies , other events

unions , student activities offers many services , events campus community, such movies , popular friday night afterhours program produced sun entertainment. sun presents several concerts , special events each year , coordinates welcome week concerts. college of arts , letters presents classic films every tuesday night during school year, , presents more 300 music , theatrical performances, lectures, films , art exhibitions yearly.
