rettershof, northeast of fischbach, founded in 1186 premonstratensian convent. during protestant reformation, land lord closed convent in 1559 , converted manor. church of convent destroyed during thirty years war. in 1884 english man bought manor , built new mansion in tudor style architecture. successors built restaurant in 1938, offered products of manor. city of kelkheim bought rettershof in 1980 , renovated it. today, rettershof consists of 3 parts: historically styled yard of manor, former mansion , restaurant. nearby horse-riding range. in 80s, mansion european headquarters of hare krishna-sect short time. today has been extended high-priced hotel.
