Academic Muhammed Zafar Iqbal

after obtaining phd degree, iqbal worked post-doctoral researcher @ california institute of technology (caltech) 1983 1988. joined bell communications research (bellcore), separate corporation bell labs (now telcordia technologies), research scientist. left institute in 1994.

upon returning bangladesh joined faculty of cse department @ sust. later became head of eee department. on 26 november 2013, iqbal , wife professor yasmeen haque applied resignation after university authority had postponed combined admission test sust , jessore science & technology university. withdrew resignation letters on next day after authority decided go on holding combined admission tests.

he serves vice president of bangladesh mathematical olympiad committee. iqbal played leading role in founding bangladesh mathematical olympiad , popularized mathematics among bangladeshi youths @ local , international level. in 2011 won rotary seed award contribution in field of education.
