in 2006, pursuant class assignment, cho wrote short one-act play entitled richard mcbeef. play focuses on john, thirteen-year-old boy father has died in boating accident, , john s stepfather, ex-football player richard mcbeef (whom john refers dick ). when richard touches john s lap during attempt @ father-to-son talk, boy abruptly claims stepfather molesting him. john accuses stepfather of having murdered biological father , repeatedly says kill richard. john, richard , sue (john s mother) embroiled in major argument. richard retreats car escape conflict, john, despite claiming repeatedly richard abusing him, joins stepfather in car , harasses him. play ends john trying shove banana-flavored cereal bar stepfather s throat; richard, hitherto passive character, reacts out of sheer desecrated hurt , anger swinging deadly blow @ boy.

mr. brownstone

in second play, mr. brownstone, written class assignment, cho depicts 3 seventeen-year-olds (john, jane , joe), sit in casino while discussing deep hatred mr. brownstone, 45-year-old mathematics teacher. 3 characters claim—using phrase ass-rape —that mr. brownstone mistreats them. john wins multimillion-dollar jackpot 1 of slot machines, , mr. brownstone, amid volleys of profanity students, reports casino officials 3 teens underage , have illegally picked winning ticket. mr. brownstone tells casino officials has won jackpot , minors had stolen ticket him. mr. brownstone name of guns n roses song heroin, , 1 page of cho s play consists of lyrics song.

short fiction paper

approximately 1 year before incident @ virginia tech, cho wrote paper assignment in intro short fiction class took during spring 2006 semester. in paper, cho wrote mass school murder planned protagonist of story but, according story, protagonist did not follow through killings. during proceedings of virginia tech panel, panel unaware of existence of paper written cho fiction writing class.

when information surfaced paper, virginia tech panel learned @ time virginia state police , virginia tech had copies of unreleased paper in possession. virginia state police reported that, although had copy of paper, virginia law prevented them releasing paper panel because part of investigative file in ongoing investigation.
