under allgäu-swabian regular interval timetable (allgäu-schwaben-takt) introduced in 1993, passenger services on aulendorf–leutkirch–memmingen route became hourly. in 2005 timetable services thinned out run every 2 hours—supposedly because of insufficient numbers of passengers. these figures disputed. studies show increase in ridership of 386% on aulendorf–kißlegg–memmingen route between 1993 , 2003.


since 2005, there has been initiative called allgäubahn im stundentakt (hourly services on allgäu railway) aims restore hourly service on line. achieved partial success in timetable change in december 2005, restoration of services commuters , school transport. in october 2006, initiative allgäubahn founded campaign improvements perceived inadequate basic two-hour interval service cities , municipalities on württemberg allgäu railway , kißlegg-memmingen line. mayor of kißlegg, dieter krattenmacher coordinated initiative , first step commissioned opinion tübingen-based transport consultant ulrich grosse, proposed concept buses no longer running parallel railway line, instead running @ right angles it. realised in 2007/2008 timetable change aichstetten , in summer of 2008 kißlegg/bad wurzach area.


since timetable change winter timetable of 2011/2012, timetable has returned approximately hourly service, there remain gaps in less busy times of day. baden-württemberg s new minister of transport, winfried hermann has continued finance additional services required because of loss of revenue due failure of tilting technology, among other things.
