the town situated in valley of creek same name in taunus mountain range. neighbour towns hornau in east, kelkheim-mitte in southeast , ruppertshain in northwest cities of eppstein in west , königstein im taunus in northeast. eponymous creek has source below ruppertshain, flows through fischbach , tight fischbachtal (fish creek valley), until creek reaches schwarzbach (black creek) in eppstein. fischbach surrounded of 3 mountains, fischbacher kopf, staufen , rossert. despite of idyllic location, fischbach suburb of frankfurt rhein-main region.

bundesstraße 455 (federal highway 455) heads königstein via fischbach eppstein , wiesbaden. former through road substituted bypass in 1980s. new road not bypass fischbach crosses town on artificial embankment destroyed meadows of creek. town center @ langstraße crossed bridge. 3 bus routes connect fischbach frankfurt transit system - kelkheim railway station.

the old town center situated @ intersection of main roads kelkheim–ruppertshain , königstein–eppstein. first road, langstraße, main road of old part of village. town protected creek , trench. in 19th century fischbach grew along both streets, kelkheimer straße , eppsteiner straße. after world war ii, fischbach grew due settlements of refugees. street names egerländer straße , königsberger straße reminded old homes of new fischbach residents. residential areas built, on both sides of kelkheimer straße , on south-side of town, around staufenstraße , sodener straße. in north, small residential estate built on former brickyard area (an der ziegelei). out of village @ street königstein, summer cottages built in 70s. nowadays people living there time.
