the physics of squirt or deflection phenomenon has been analyzed in other contexts, such ice-hockey pucks. squirt has been applied metaphorically in sports journalism , gaming press describe escape of ball or puck player control. however, remains cue sports technical term, , not appear used jargon in football, hockey, or other sports.

double hit
an illegal shot (foul) in cue stick s tip contacts cue ball twice during single stroke. double hits occur when player shoots cue ball when close object ball or cushion, because difficult move cue stick away enough after cue ball rebounds cushion or object ball.
double kiss
a situation in ball strikes ball close rail , struck ball rebounds ball hit by; not unintended.
double shimmed
a pool table 2 shims have been placed on sides of each pocket (in jaws beneath cloth), making pockets tighter (smaller). such tables tougher unshimmed or single-shimmed tables.
double rail

doubles

drag shot

draw

drop pockets
