niklas sivelov born in skellefteå in northern sweden. ancestors came karelia , northern finland.
sivelov began studying organ @ age of 6 , later winning prizes throughout scandinavia organist, own compositions , improvisations. @ age fourteen switched piano , began practice more seriously. @ seventeen, sivelov attended royal college of music in stockholm, studied keyboard , composition, , made soloist debut royal stockholm philharmonic performing bartók second piano concerto in 1991. continued studies in helsinki, bucharest, trossingen , london. repertoire extends bach contemporary, including number of swedish composers. performance collaborations conductors include, among others, esa-pekka salonen, leif segerstam, thomas dausgaard, jukka pekka saraste, kees bakels, alan gilbert, paavo berglund, mario venzago, john axelrod , kazufumi yamashita. has performed leading orchestras in scandinavia, tonhalle zurich, suisse romande , orchestras on europe.
