supreme leader of iran ali khamenei condemned attacks , known bad , wrong incident . also, declared that: british embassy attack before it, against country (iran) , islam, , didn t it.

iranian president hassan rouhani condemned attacks while @ same time condemned execution of nimr al-nimr. blamed attacks on extremist individuals . has pledged protect security of foreign missions , prosecute responsible attacking saudi diplomatic posts, in series of messages posted on twitter account moments after attack. on 6 january, president rouhani has asked iranian judiciary prosecute attackers invoked. said punishing attackers , orchestrated obvious offense, government should put end once , forever such damage , insults iran s dignity , national security.

the iranian authorities have express regret on attacks , arrested @ least 40 individuals in connection attack.

five days later on january 7, 2016, iran s foreign ministry made claim saudi warplanes had deliberately targeted embassy yemen in city of sana a. iran s report included claims that, number of building s guards had been injured result of bombing. despite assertion san aa residents , associated press have reported embassy suffered no visible damage. general ahmad asseri saudi-led coalition investigating iran s allegations.

on 24 january, iranian judiciary spokesman gholam-hossein mohseni-eje announced on state tv arrested around 100 people involved in attack. of them later released.

as of end of july, 2017, 5 of tried sentenced 6 months in prison, while 5 others handed down three-month sentences.
