the kethabha dhe-bhabhatha, ( book of pupils of eyes ) compendium of logic , dialectics.

the rest found in mss., preserved @ florence, oxford, london, , elsewhere. (3) teghrath teghratha, commerce of commerces , résumé of preceding, unpublished. (4) kethabha dhe-sewadh sophia, book of speech of wisdom ; compendium of physics , metaphysics. these should added few translations of arabic works syriac, treatises written directly in arabic.

the important work of bar hebræus awsar raze, storehouse of secrets , commentary on entire bible, both doctrinal , critical. before giving doctrinal exposition of passage, first considers critical state. although uses peshitta basis, knows not perfect, , therefore controls hebrew, septuagint, greek versions of symmachus, theodotion, aquila, oriental versions, armenian , coptic, , other syriac translations, heraclean, philoxenian , syro-hexapla. work of bar hebræus of prime importance recovery of these versions , more specially hexapla of origen, of syro-hexapla translation paul of tella. exegetical , doctrinal portions taken greek fathers , previous syriac orthodox theologians. no complete edition of work has yet been issued, many individual books have been published @ different times.

bar hebraeus, later, decided write history edification of christians rather church itself. became mukhtasar fî l-duwal. 1890 edition of work translation fr. anton salihani. latin translation exists in older edition of edward pococke, (mis)translated historia compendiosa dynastiarum.
